Two brothers (Namibia 2014)
Story behind this picture:
We got up really early that morning. That night, we slept in the Okaukuejo camp and decided to drive to the Okandeka waterhole as our first spot (recommended for lion sightings). When we came there, there was only one car, which left after a few minutes as there were no lions to be seen. We decided to stay as another group in an overlander stopped by. And then I’ve spotted something “big” (bigger than the other animals at that spot). It was a lion. First unclear whether male or female, it appeared to be a young male lion. He came to our cars, gave us a loud shout and continued to walk down the street. We followed him for some minutes and all of a sudden we spotted the second lion (which we think might be his brother). Enjoying the warm sunlight of that morning and the silence around them, they decided to relax next to each other (and next to our cars, which were approx. 10m away).
Really one of my favourite moments of the whole trip.
